Common Ground: Balsall Heath

An outdoor art, nature and community project.

Common Ground is an eclectic programme of art workshops, events, performances and exhibitions based the beautiful garden at Balsall Heath Church Centre, taking place between October 2021 and February 2022 Artists will lead processes that examine and celebrate the role of the natural world in creativity and wellbeing and across diverse cultures and backgrounds, to engage with the local and wider community.

The initial workshops will be led by Dan Burwood – Photography, Carolyn Morton – Natural Inks, and Bohdan Piasecki

Art forms may include: digital photography and video; analogue and natural process photography and print-making; ceramics and sculpture; plant-based ink drawing and fine art; poetry and story-telling and musical performance. Activities will be COVID secure, digitally accessible, and outputs recorded online.

Practical information:

These workshops are free and open to everyone, irrespective of faith, ethnicity, gender identity sexuality or disability. Artistic experience is not necessary but will be welcomed. Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing – we will try to be out as much as we can, although indoor space is available in case of inclement weather!
